David Blayne was born 19 April, Alabama, USA. Raised in Birmingham, Blayne wasn't really into music but more so sports growing up. While a junior in high school Blayne met a group of guys that were singing on the schoolyard and took an immediate interest. There he began to write songs and learn to play the piano and guitar. Not long after DB joined a group of 5 guys that went on to win a car in a Talent contest that was held by the SCLC. Drawing on Blayne's talent and experience ofperforming with powerhouse R&B groups like Silk, labels took an immediate interest. Blayne's first official release was with a Indie Label with major distribution. Due to many inadequacies, the album didn't have a chance to be exploited properly. Shortly after this experience Blayne began to get involved with every aspect of the business. Production, Imaging, & Marketing are some of the things that sparked an immediate. Blayne went on to establish PhotoMajiq Imaging Studio where his company currently serves small businesses, churches, artist, and more with photography and graphic design.Credits include:XXL, Ebony Jet, & Ozone. Not stopping there after producing the music that landed him the 1st record deal, he opened MajiqSound Studio.
Blayne met WakaFlockaFlames at his studio (MajiqSound) in Atlanta. There was a great amount of production chemistry with Blayne and WakaFlocka. They begin to created records that got the attention of the streets immediately. Waka was already on the road with GucciMane at the time. Blayne was an instrumental part in Wakaflocka’s Mixtapes LEBRON FLOCKA JAMES pt.1 & pt.2. DB recorded, mixed, mastered, and featured on those 2 mixtapes which did and still is doing extremely well. DB also laced a hook with Waka that currently has 9.7million views and counting on worldstar hip hop.
During the maturation of Blayne, he has moved on and has begun to target the "working class" audience. Doing so has required a different style of Music and approach. This has been an interesting task to accomplish. His main goal is to be relateable to the youth and respected by the mature audience. While many may not have understood the overall vision, it is now moving along and becoming a clearer view. There is a gap between our youth and what we call "grown ups". While there should be and always will be a difference does not mean that there has to be a gap. The "gap" means that there is a broken connection and little "real" communication. Through music & interaction is where he plans to make up some of the difference. This platform will offer a number of opportunities to gain the ears of the listeners who may not have the right guidance in place that can decipher what's needed to help the youth. Many leaders are not "in the know" and have become too distant and "unrelateable", that's where Blayne can assist. It's true that it is "cool to be smart", Blayne's saying. But wouldn't it be even cooler if someone who was considered to be "cool and relateable" was saying it?
Over the years Blayne has learned good leadership skills by being a good team player, litterally and figuratively. From the age of 6yrs old, he's played football & ran track. Each football team he played on from little league through college all was on the down swing prior to him joining. The highschool football experience was one that was a situation where the equipment, weight room, practice field, and a number of things were not adequate. It simply said that the odds were against you. But raised by a single parent that taught him that "winners never quit and quitters never win & you are not your environment", he led by example and went to work with what he had. The team was 2-9 freshman year. 4-6 softmore year. 9-3 junior year. 11-1 senior year. Moving on to college, he was blessed to have a coach with the same principles as his little league and highschool coach. The team "record" was almost identical coming into college. But, by the junior year they went undefeated and the very next season the same followed. So 20 straight games in college they won. Back to back championship in college football was 1 of his many achievements. But this just goes to say, hard work and patience is a part of who he is.
His brand new R&B album is here. A mixture of what will draw the youth and get the attention of the "grown & sexy", this will be an album to enjoy and remember. A mixture of all of his musical talents are expressed on this project. With 2 more projects in the works, there is definitely more to come for this Media Guru. So, be on the lookout.
